Yes, since both Dex III and Mercon have been discontinued its been replaced my Dex/Merc fluids that satisfy both requirment of Dex III and Merc. Dex/Merc is now the standard ATF fluid unless the app calls for a Type F, H, G ect or Merc V

I've used that exact stuff in my T56 as recommended by the rebuilder, worked very smoothly and came out looking like new after ~1000 mile break-in. Great stuff and highly recommended.

The trans actually shifted smoother with that stuff than it has since I filled w/ Amsoil ATD fluid. Cold, hot, didn't matter.

Same fluid I am running in my trans. It was the easiest to pick up when I swapped the T56 in so I used it. Ran it for 100 miles or so and changed it, ran that fill for 500 and changed again. I now have about 1000 on this fill and plan to change it again. Used trans with unknown history so I am trying to flush any garbage it might have in it out by doing so many changes. Every time I drain it it looks brand new with nothing in it though. Otherwise I have no problems with the fluid. I was actually looking to try something different but hearing it is pretty good I may just stay with it.
