T-56 oil?

Default T-56 oil?

hi
by mistake i fill my t-56 with 80/90w oil , now i'm thinking to drain all the oil
and refill again with new ATF III oil , are there any problem with this ?
or the trans will start wine ?

Give people more than 5 minutes to respond. Your thread is already the top one

You really don't have much choice.

Doubt it will "hurt it" I'd fill it up, run it for a bit and if you want re-drain/fill once more.

it will be fine, ATF has so many detergents in it that will disolve any remaining gear oil. if i were you, i would drain it, fill it with ATF, put it through a few (10) heat cycles and change it again.

As long as you didn't run it with the gear oil, it should flush out. If you ran it, the carbon friction rings will absorb the gear oil and you'll never get it out and have to replace all the friction rings.. I had a Dodge Ram SRT10 T56 that came through with that exact situation..
