Default Might be a really dumb question but....?

Ok so im mostly through bleeding my clutch, but heres the thing. I can't tell if my clutch is disengaging. My dd has the shifter connected by cables. And i've never driven a car where the shifter directly controls gear selection, let alone a manual v8. But in my DD i can hit the clutch with the car off and easily row through the gears, should i be able to do this the same way with the t56?

mine doesn't always go into them all smoothly with the car off. start the car and see if it goes into 1st and reverse easily. if it does, then go out and with the car in 1st and clutch in, rev to 6k rpm on a level surface. if the car moves then you know the clutch isn't fully disengaging.
