Default 99 V6 m5 speedo inop wont rev over 3500

im aware that the 3800 v6 engines will not rev over 3500 rpm in neutral or park. the car wont rev past 3500 and the speedo dont work either since its a m5 the pcm prolly thinks its not in gear. can somebody shoot up a schematic or diagnostic flow chart? so i can sort this issue out. i drive 60 miles round trip a day to work and my 99 tahoe is killing me on gas and my ls1 car only gets 2 miles to the gallon better and i gotta run premium in it so no benefit there. i need to get the v6 bird on the road again but with the way georgia and florida cops are i cant risk not knowing how fast im going. plus fuel cutout at 3500 is no fun either any help would be greatly appreciated

check the wiring to the VSS. There should be a 5v signal to the VSS and the other line to return into to the PCM. If there's no 5V at the wiring at all, the car wiring needs repaired. If there is, you probably need a VSS.
