Default Brake fluid leaking inside car from Tick MC??

I was buttoning up under my dash today and noticed the black rubber cover on the master cylinder rod was wet from brake fluid. I pushed it in a little and it oozed out more fluid. What the heck is up with that? Is that normal, and has anyone experienced this? I have had clutch issues all last year and was attributing it to the fluid deteriorating from not having the rubber gasket inside the reservoir... I wiped off the rod and rubber cover inside the car before I started bleeding the clutch and didn't see any more come out. This seems strange to me.

Does anyone know if when you spin the rod if it can come disconnected from the mechanism inside the master cylinder? It's a Tick mc...

Are you sure you did not spill any fluid on the unit?

If you are sure you didnt put the fluid there then you sir have a defective MC..

No offense taken. I called Tick this morning and they will mail me a brand new one when I send it back to them. What bad timing, I'm taking the car to an out of town show this weekend...
