Clutch or syncro's

Well I'm already palnning on getting aspec 3 clutch, o1 slave cylinder and doing the drill mod ( I have an 00 z28). The thing is I have about 80K on the car and some times when I try to down shit to third, and ocaisionally 4th and 1st it gives a little grid, but this never happens when i'm shifting up. I already paln on replacing the clutch should I also look into syncro's. If so about how much are syncros, and is this a difficult job. I am fairly mechanically inclind, rebuilt a motor and a few axels, just never a tranny. Any sound advice is appperciated,

Thanks
Peston

Uh
Sorry about my last post
I guess I was drunker than I thought.
These trannies aren't hard to rebuild. Sounds like you might have a mechanical abilities to do the job,
But you will need a Shop press, some BIG ASS Snap ring plyers, Possilbly a special puller to do the job.
also you need to inspect all the gears, and synchro assmeblies for wear.
IF you can find someone that has done a few to help you look over the parts.
But everyone has to start somewhere.

NOT an expert. But definitely sounds like you have some synchro probs.

Tom (the drunk who already answered your post) and I are getting ready to rebuild one of mine. He's pretty damn good at these.
