T56 What one do you recommend? What are you running. Street and Road Race
I need to buy a new T56 for my 67 Camaro that is for street and road racing. I destroyed the one I had in the car, Liberty said the only thing that can be saved is the tail shaft.
I was thinking about the Liberty T56 Magnum. What do you think? Do you like what you have or know of any other units I should look at. I would be interested in a another stock unit if I new it would be ok. I here of a lot of units with problems. The one I am bar owing know will not go into revere when the car is running and shifts hard some times.
Thanks for your help. Randy

Here is some info that should help. The motor is a 04 GTO ls1 . 400RWH.
I have 390 gears in a 9". The car is 3500lb with me in it.
I run 3rd and 4th on most tracks but need to go to fith on tracks that are faster than 138 MPH. I had a T56 from a 2002 Camaro that I was told had some work done to it. I changed the bell housing over the winter and it took the trany off center, that is how my first unit was hurt.
Tick looks to have some good prices.
Any feed pack would be a help. Randy

I would get the Fbody gearing and if you can afford the Magnum T56 get it. It has triple synchros so it should shift the best out of any T56 style transmission.
Just make sure it is a bolt in affair. I'm pretty sure they are a little longer and you will need to have the Fbody tailhousing installed to make it truly a simple install. They certainly aren't "Bolt in" transmissions into your existing setup.
You need to drop some #'s in that car . I have an RX-7 with a 438ci LS7, GForce dog box 4spd, 18x12's all around, and it weighs 2400lbs dry.

Thank you for the compliment on our pricing! Our Levels 4 and 5 are LS1 F-Body "bolt in" units, not just factory stock T56 Magnums. They're worth looking at: http://www.tickperformance.com/1993-...camaro-trans-am/
