go to your local autozone and if they have one on stock look at it. If it has an AP cast into it and is made in mexico and not china it's the same thing as a GM slave.

Yup, the AZ one is an OEM one. Duralast doesn't actually make it, just like GM doesn't actually make it. AP makes most all hydraulic components, and GM outsources to them as do the auto parts stores.
The slave cylinder to avoid is all black and has no numbers or letters cast into the housing. That's the cheap Chinese one..

I'd personally avoid a Duralast brand slave. I just bought a "Z06" slave and have my mechanic install it, and it's awesome. You get what you pay for. I'll try and get you the part number on the slave I had installed if you're interested.

I found out the lifespan of my "perfection" piece this week

it lasted about 12k miles before it gave up and I couldn't get it into any gear at all, the clutch I got from them blowing out after 5k miles should have been the first hint to replace it

I installed a duralast AP one and so far so good

My perfection clutch lasted just over 1k miles. The first time I gave it the beans (1st thru 4th) it exploded into dust. I didn't really mind since it was just a bandaid until my monster arrives

After reading this thread, I decided to online order a new Duralast clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. The master is made in Mexico but the slave cylinder is made in Taiwan ! I'm not happy about that and I'm probably going to return the slave. What other options do I have that aren't Taiwan or even worse, chinese made??

I've been researching this forum for the last hour and its starting to look like the GM slave cylinder may be the way to go.

http://www.tickperformance.com/gm-sl...or-ls1-f-body/

Can anyone tell me where this part is made?
