My trans rebuild is taking longer than expected because my mechanic can't find a shift rail for the GTO because his trans parts guy said that it's different than the F-Body. I called 'TGB' and they said it IS in fact the same as an F-Body rail. Awesome. So I just got off the phone with Tremec and they confirmed it.

Do you guys know anything about this?? I know Tremec confirmed it, I just don't want to get the F-Body rail and find that I need other parts in order to make it work

The rail is the same. The offset lever that attaches to the rail where the shifter attaches, is different. You'll be fine with the Fbody rail in the GTO T56.

So that means I'll need a new F-Body offset lever in order for everything to go together?

No, the offset levers are diff, not the rail. The mechanic may have confused the lever diff with the rail.
