6speed, i was under the car installing a turndown on my electric cutout and I was just tinkering around with stuff under my car. I found myself pushing the front end of the driveshaft up and down about a mm. i figure this is simply a slight bit of slack in the tailshaft and the yoke's slip spline...., but i want to make sure that it is not a potential problem.

I'm currently working on the same problem. My driveshaft yoke has play up and down, but it is pretty tight side to side. The tailshaft bushing is worn and needs replaced. Do some reading on a tailshaft bushing, they dont have a GM OEM replacement, I even checked with a dealer. So I've got a Rockland No Walk T56 tailshaft bushing on the way.

Ok man, It doesn't look like it would be very difficult to replace it. I will read up on it, thanks for the reply man. I figure that I shouldn't do high rpm shifts until I replace it right??

I just made two 500 mile road trips with some horrible vibes that I believe is from the bad bushing, everything is fine, but it just sucks big time goin down the road.

I definitely wouldn't do any wide open pulls. I mean I've done a few, and I'm still on the road, but you also risk wearing out the inner walls that hold the bushing in place, and in turn would require a new tailhousing because the new bushing may not fit in place.
