Thats Cobrabob's gasket set. I know alot of the Cobra guys over on SVTPerformance run it. Cobrabob is a member there too.

Nope, just used a thin coating of RTV between the shifter and tranny; and nothing between the stick and shifter.

Ive always cut them out of rubber mats you can get at a hardware store. Like plumbing gasket material.

Im not sure if Ill do it again. The car makes enough noise elsewhere that a little extra noise from the shifter shouldnt be an issue. Ill be using some RTV and calling it done.

I bought a roll of the dark gray gasket material from an auto parts store and made my own. All you need to do is use your shifter plate as a template and cut it to size. Put a little RTV on each side and it works like a charm.

I tried one. Did nothing for noise and I went back to RTV since that couldn't be a worse choice of material for the gasket. Way to soft and it just squeezed right out of the base and between the handle.

I got one a while back but haven't installed it. It's nicely made but seems pretty thin, seems like made out of RTV. I'll probably just leave in the gasket I made myself out of that fiber material. Actually a thicker rubber gasket would be ideal.

Anybody else try one of Cobrabob's gaskets? The mustang folks on SVT rave about this thing...
