Thanks. I'm going to be working on that this spring, that was a launch in no boost. I'll be adding a 2 step this year.

I made the fastest pass before my partner got to the track so no video of the 1.27. This is the next pass which I got out of just before the 1/8 mi, 1.283, 6.11@105.

All good info here....but one important piece of info missing for each entry.

What transmission ?

Stock T56, built T56, Magnum based, aftermarket gears, synchro/dog/faceplate etc other ?

What spec of box is actually hanging together at the upper levels ?

Thats not what this list is about. This is just a fast list with basic details. There isnt enough room to list their entire combo. If you are curious about someones combo shoot them a PM.

I'm curious about any who are making a lot of power and their trans is handling it with ease....and whether it is for example a stock Magnum or other.

Although actually more interested in 5th gear than 1-4....But not so many seem to push that side of things

Yeah I know what you mean. Knowing a lot of these cars on the list personally there arent many of them in the top 10 who havent broken something major.

But 5th gear is a different animal all together. From my experience T56s strip the teeth clean off stock gears and a lot of times TR6060s wont even shift into 5th at high RPM. And even if they do they will rip the teeth off eventually if they are making any kind of power.

yes, I've stripped the teeth off 5th on one ( albeit stock so not a huge surprise ) and on my other "built" T56, the 5/6 synchro slider exploded.

Hence a dilemma . Some guys are getting away with totally stock Magnums at higher power for 1/2 mile etc, some probably arent.

Will a 9310 gear version really be any stronger ? I'm thinking probably not for the money.

And I dont believe any of these cryo or gear polishing will truly make the stock gears any stronger either.

acceleration under power should not be happening in the OD gears. change differential gears for maximum engine RPM through the traps (whether that is 1/8, 1/4, or 1/2 mile) in 4th gear (1:1). those gears are just too small for that sort of abuse.
