Need advice on transmission for project
Hey guys. I picked up a sweet Nissan r34 skyline that I’ll be dropping a 5.3 engine and I’m looking for advice on transmission. Yes I’ve done my research and what I’ve come up with so far is the t56 which is quite expensive now a days. I also read that Novak makes an adaptor kit for AX15 which from my research seems to have the same bolt pattern as a Toyota r154 transmission. My question is has anyone here mated a lsx engine to a r154 or does anyone else have any suggestions on which route to go? Any info is appreciated.

No doubt they have.
Suggestions for what exactly, you've given no real detail about what you intend to do, what you're going to use it for, or indeed any goals.
Other than an R34 and 5.3.

The R154's are a good box....but pretty sure 5-600hp is pushing the top end of their abilities.
Some say the Nissan CD009 is a stronger box
But really..by time you muck about with adaptors, fitting kits, whatever. It's just hard to beat the simplicity of the T56 that will easily bolt straight up using factory parts and have the widest range of aftermarket support.
But yes they are getting old, some can be silly prices and some parts getting harder to source.
You might be better opting for a TR6060 or similar variant from a newer car ?

newer style ?
The LS has been around for 20 years now.....not really sure I'd describe as newer lol.
The 6060 would be a better and stronger box for the money than any actual T56, and no you would not want an LT T56
