Installed Tick Master and now I'm getting code p0704
 

I googled the code and from what I gather the PCM looks for the clutch input switch to open and close (pedal moving). The Tick master put the pedal quite a bit lower and now the switch is always open. The PCM thinks the clutch pedal is always pushed in so it illuminates the SES light. Have I got this right?

If so, HEY TICK, why didn't you include in the install instructions to re-adjust the clutch input switch? Next question: Will I have to modify something to adjust the input switch that far? Haven't jammed myself under the dash yet to look at this. Not my daily driver, so I am not in a rush to fix it.

Not bashing the Tick master, I love it. But if I do need to adjust the switch, I think that should be in the install instructions. I didn't think of adjusting the switch, for that matter I haven't seen much chatter on this forum about adjusting the clutch input switch.

I might have the same problem cause i just finished install my tick master today and noticed the switch not making contact anymore. Looks like if it is adjusted all the way in it still wont be completely depressed with the clutch pedal out. I dont have the SES light (yet) but i have only driven the car around the block. I was thinking of adding a spacer to the pedal if there isnt an easier solution.

i agree with you that the tick master is great but the instructions seem to be pretty vague.

You will need to adjust the pedal sensor. I had to do the same with my Tick clutch master.

Your right, it probably should be in the instructions, but the switch has quite a range of adjustment, and should reach just fine.

How low is the pedal? I did a rev test with ours, (monster level 2) and adjusted it until the car wouldnt move when revved in gear, clutch pedal down, and it put the pedal maybe an inch lower than the brake pedal.

My clutch pedal is currently approx 1" below the brake pedal. I don't drive the car much, therefore working on it isn't high on the list of things to do. I installed the clutch in August and still have yet to put 300 miles on the car, let alone the 500 mile break in. Tomorrow I am off of work and plan to tie up a couple loose ends with the car. Adjust the clutch switch, bleed the hydraulics again, rev test the clutch, and find an antifreeze leak.

The car smells of antifreeze when I get out of the car after driving it. Can't smell it in the car and no visible leaks in the interior, so I am fairly certain it isn't the heater core. Thank God for that! I have replaced enough heater cores, I don't even want to know what kind of hell it is to change in this car. I plan on changing the upper and lower radiator hose and cap, then see if that fixes the problem. I really don't want to replace the radiator. I can't see any leaks, any suggestions? Off topic I know, sorry about that.

When I installed my tick, I was able to rotate switch without unplugging connector by guiding wires over switch throughout rotation. The switch not making contact will throw code and your cruise control will not work.

Dammit! Now I will HAVE to fix it, I have to have the cruise control for the long trips.

Hey man let me know when you have this fixed, I've got the same code after I replaced my master cylinder with the new stock one, and now my cruise control wouldn't work. Where is this switch/sensor that you're talking about? Behind the clutch pedal?

Lay on the floor with your head crammed into the footwell. Look up at the clutch pedal arm, there is a switch that contacts the side of the clutch pedal arm. From there I can't tell you how to adjust it because I haven't gotten that far yet.

To help you see better, remove the two 7mm bolts holding in panel, then the the bottom panel if you want that is held in with two plastic push pins. It pulls out. Move the clutch pedal and you will see a white switch that it is suppose to push against. Look in there, you can push the switch with your hand. It has threads on it and is also connected with a electronic connector n wire.

I had a hard time getting the connector off due to my large hands so i left it attached, but what I was able to do is, rotate the switch and kinda grabbing the attached wires to rotate with it. I rotated like four times or so and it was then making contact with the pedal stop.

Thanks for the pic! It helps a lot. I can understand why the car would throw the code with the tick MC since you can adjust the clutch throw but mine is another stock one and my pedal is sitting right where it was..I got the problem fixed just wondering why this happened with stock MC.
