possible slave leak?

I'm in the middle of installing a new slave cylinder and exhaust system on my 98 Z28. I have the transmission installed and everything ready to go as far as that is concerned. I got that done on Sunday. I installed the headers Sunday as well. Today I started on the y-pipe and noticed some wetness at the seam of the bell housing and transmission, it was brake fluid. I did not bleed the clutch by that point but when I saw that I decided to. When I installed a new slave I also added a speed bleeder from monster. I bleed it and seems to have good pedal pressure, but I haven't driven it of anything. I'm going to wait on installing the rest of the exhaust because if something is leaking, ill have to pull the tranny for the 3rd time. I posted this mainly because I am wondering if I did something wrong when I installed the bleeder to the slave. I'm pretty sure I got it tight, but didn't use any thread sealer, like the white tape stuff.

Any advice would be great, I don't want to pull the transmission again if I don't have to.

Keep in mind that the fluid got inside the bell housing before I bleed the clutch, pumped the pedal or even closed the end of the bleeder, so there would be no way for any pressure to have built up.

I did some research and noticed a lot of people talking about a washer, I didn't see a washer when I installed the bleeder so I went to the box it came in a found a washer under a cardboard flap. Last night I loosened the transmission to bell housing bolts and separated them a little. I tried drying there to see if and more would appear, them I pumped the clutch a lot. I check this morning and its still dry. Should I drop the transmission and install the washer?

If it was the copper crush washer, yes. That's what seals the connection between the slave and bleeder and you'll most likely have air-in-the-system issues. If you don't want to drop the trans now, you could try driving it and see if you develop air in the system after some city driving and keep a very close eye on your fluid level. Eventually, if not immediately, I'd guess you'll develop air issues along with a leak.

I went ahead and dropped the transmission last night. The washer was sliver but would serve the same purpose, I assume. When I got the transmission out there was a lot of brake fluid in the bottom. I didn't bleed it yet but hopefully it won't leak any more.
