Weird clutch issues. I just switched from my destroyed ram clutch to a spec 3 with the slave spacer. I'm about 100 miles in the break in period and I noticed when on the highway in 6th gear the clutch will slip if you give it gas like going up a hill(under load). It does the same city driving if you go like second to 4th. I haven't done any wot. This is the first spec I've used so I was just wondering if this is normal during break in.
Thanks for posting your questions? Some clutch slip can occur during the break-in period but I have a few questions that will help with assessing this further. What is your torque output? What flywheel is being used? If it is the original, was it resurfaced? What were your measurements relative to the shim? Let me know and I will be happy to assist you further. Thanks!

The car is all stock with a resurfaced flywheel. The transmission shop I purchased the clutch from told me to be sure to use the supplied shim, so no measurements were taken. The car is an all stock 99 z28 with 150 shot of nitrous which is completely irrelevant at this point LOL.

They should have followed the instructions provided with the clutch kit. It is better to measure and be sure than to assume and have issues. If the shim was installed and wasn't need it can cause the bearing to ride the diaphragm fingers which in turn can keep the clutch partially released. This will cause a reduction in clamp-load and reduce the clutches capacity as a result. The fact that the pedal is high means that you very well didn't need the shim. All you can really do at this point is check the measurements and go from there.

Pulled the trans after work today and removed the spacer. Sure enough you hit the nail on the head. Fixed all the issues. I cleaned up the spots in the flywheel where it had slipped a few times and now it's working great. Thanks for all the help.
