Default C6 T56 shifter for main case location.

Like so many others dreaming of using the LSX mated directly to a T56 and diff in a mid engine build the problem seems to be a way to shift the thing.
What do you guys know about relocating a shifter to the mid mount/main case location? Its not the same as an Fbody as far as I know. For one the four bolt cover has a detent spring and roller in it, also looks to be much different than Fbody T56.
A regular type shifter would be a good base to start with, but I'd like to modify it for a cable operated shifter or if a cable shifter for this app is out there at a "resonable" cost I'd buy that.
This is all that holds me from pulling the trigger and moving on with this build.
No I don't want a traditional Porsche type transaxle either.

Thanks

Think I found something I could work with. What do you guys think about this?
This style of shifter is the closest thing Ive found so far. They come on the tr6060 and it seems like the big 3 auto makers are using one like it.
I'd be willing to buy one to see If I can use it. Anyone have one or know a source for it?

Yes I have one of those. No, I don't feel like elaborating on suggested shifter use without more detail of the application. What's the total installed room available for the drivetrain? Which way does it face? Details. Details.

Hi, thanks.
It will be longitudinal mount. Would you like to sell your shifter?

I have most of the C6 2009 suspension and drivetrain so want to use as much of it as I can, but in a mid engine config.

What is the car? How long is the back half going to be without a Porsche style trans?

The plan is to look at the powertrain and see how long it will make the rear of the car. If its to long I'll make an offset chain drive.
Really didint want to get into to many details because its all just a plan at this point. The first hurdle for me is the shifting, if I can't do that then game over.
Im thinking I'll need to buy a donor trans to get all the GTO/Camaro shift internals, mid plate, bellhousing....ect
Anyone know if the input shaft on 09 C6 is the same as GTO/Camaro T56 stuff?
