Default have to press clutch hard for car to start

I have a 98 ls1 trans am m6 and you have to slam the clutch pedal down for car to start. It never starts when you press clutch the first time, is there something to adjust or someway to bypass it were you dont have to have clutch pressed to start the car.

when you push in the clutch it pushes in a small button switch at the TOP of the pedal when the pedal bottoms out on the floor. Sometimes it goes bad, happened to me it has 2 wires coming out of it. Order an ac delco one off line the ones the parts stores sell are crap, I broke 2 of them.
