Default Hurst shifter ball amplifying sound?

I know Im not going crazy here... I have two Hurst shift *****, one regular black one and the other a white Sidewinder (one with the button) and both of these things make almost unbearable rattle/grinding type sound at certain RPM/load. The noise is non-existent when they are removed, and both were very tight. These are on Pro 5.0 shifters by the way, in BOTH of my cars. So I know it has something to do with the ****.

I cant be the only one to have this problem... the Sidewinder being the louder of the two because its bigger. Any solution to this? Its driving me nuts!

I have the white hurst ball with a ws6store short stick and it rattles like hell. It's not bad under WOT, just when I'm cruising.

i had this happen on mine , its the brass insert in push fit into it , what i did was find a bolt the same thread pitch , pull the brass insert out .

Then i put glue into it , and pressed it back together in my vice and let it dry there for a day or two .

I found out lot of people have the issue .

Same here, it's fine at wot, just does it during moderate throttle in 2-4th. Thanks for the tip, I'll pull my insert out and epoxy it back in!
