Default TR6060 vs. T56 magnum? Ford/cadillac

LONG story short...I need a shifter assembly for an 04 CTS V tranny.
Pictured here.

for some god forsaken reason...these don't exist in the aftermarket world, junk yard, used parts threads, ebay, just about anywhere you can think of.

I noticed through my searches however that the TR6060 shifter linkage assembly for the gt500 looks nearly IDENTICAL except for the little piece behind the shifter, pictured below

Yes, as you may have guessed, I'm going to ask that very question...Are they cross compatible? I don't really want to spend $200-450 to hope it works but I've about exhausted my last resource and there are LOADS of aftermarket options for the gt500 shifter assemblies.

also if it helps, this is going into a bmw with a 5.3. so nothing is a perfect fit in this car.

Any input would be appreciated

As long as you're willing to do some minor modifications, it should work.

Had some friendly help on the facebook group take some measurements.
If anybody has access to a ford gt500 tranny to replicate these measurements I would GREATLY appreciate it. That would for the most part let me know that I can use the GT500 linkage on a T-56

This is an 04 CTS-V T-56 which is what I have. Only minus the Shift Linkage

I think it should work as well, I just don't want to guess. Shift assemblies are a major point to how a transmission feels and I don't what to hack something together.

Some solid measurements would seal the deal for me.

These two shifters are NOT interchangeable. Resist modifying one to fit the other application. These are very complex and you most certainly will not get it to fit & shift properly.

We were heavily leaning that way too. I have an awesome fabricator and welder.
