Someone please enlighten me on proper clutch/slave clearance
I'm setting up my clutch(ls7) and I'm getting conflicting information on proper measurements. According to Tick you only want 1/16"-1/8" difference between the A measurement and the B measurement. I have the Joseph Potak The Complete Swap Manual GM LS series engines and it says you want after subtracting the B measurement from the A .600-.700 . Big difference. What do you guys shoot for? Right now I have .25 .

Your “A minus B” measurement should be 0.125 to 0.200 for adequate bearing travel and to allow for clutch wear.
This is what we recommend, we would never recommend 1/16" as it is not enough. I personally would use .250" because it is so close to the desired measurement. I have only seen a clutch measure out to over .600" a couple of times, for the most part they are under .400" every time i check one. It obviously depends on the clutch type, brand, ect.. and vehicle i am working on.
