TR-6060 bearing preload endplay
I have a lot of recommendations on the T56 preload, usually .002" tighter than Tremec specs but I have not seen anything on the TR6060. I would think the factory specs would be the same between the two but they are not. Bearings are used so should I go tighter or looser? Counter is at .002" now, haven't set main yet.
T56 Tremec specs:
Main .000-.002 endplay
Counter .000-.002 preload
T56 Recommended:
Main .000-.002 preload
Counter .002-.004 preload
TR6060 Tremec
Main .0005-.0035 endplay
Counter .0005-.0035 endplay

New bearings need more preload. Roughly .002" more iirc. The used ones have already worn in and do not require as much.
I think you can use the same suggestions as in the T-56 rebuild manual. I don't remember what they are off the top of my head but it mentions new vs used bearing and their preload.

nice thanks I don't recall it mentioning that. I'll read through it again.
I'm still wondering why the t56 specs preload on the cluster and endplay for the 6060.
I went ahead and set .000" cluster and .0005" endplay main.
