LS 1 Is the Flywheel and External Balance?
1999 C5 - is the flywheel a external balance flywheel. I purchased a LUK Heavy Duty Clutch Assembly that does not appear to be and external weighted flywheel. Any thoughts?

Look in a GM service manual and you'll see it. Even the C5 forums talk about it: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...he-engine.html

Read that post yourself. It supports exactly what I said. The engines are internally balanced. The balancer is balanced by itself, so is the flywheel. In other words, everything that bolts to the crank is balanced by itself, not as a balancer/crank/flywheel assembly.

I'm done. You and the OP can proceed as you see fit.

Dude...there is no weight on the flywheel. The flywheel is drilled in certain places to make it neutral balanced (balanced by itself). This is done so any flywheel can be put on any engine and the whole assembly will end up being balanced as a unit.

I also just looked in my 02 F-body GM Service Manual and on page 6-755 it does say to add flywheel weights if applicable. So I was wrong in my initial post, both C5 and F-bodies could have weights added if needed.
