Fidanza pressure plate bolts I have a fidanza dual clutch and light weight flywheel. I stripped the head of one of the 6 bolts and need a replacement. The bolts are 8mm x 1.5. They are not stock size. Anyone know where i can find a replacement set? Part of the flywheel https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/ls1tech...5993dbe73e.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/ls1tech...97f1e7419a.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/ls1tech...07b38b66fe.jpg is 198399 or c5md9-5511. |
Contact Fidanza directly. They should be able to help you out. Not sure I would get something from a hardware store since you don't know the material properties of the bolts they used. |
I called fidanza and they did not know what size bolt/threads, the clutch flywheel hasn't been manufactured in 8 years apparently. They suggested I go to napa and hunt for grade 8 bolts that fit. |
I found some grade 8 bolts, any concern they won't hold up to 600whp on an aluminum flywheel. Figured the threads would get ripped out before the bolts would give. Rather be safe than sorry. |

I'd go with 10.9 to be safe. Ordering online via Fastenal or McMaster might be an option if you can wait a few days. And might need to order a min of like 5-10, but worth it to not have the flywheel or bolt come loose. |
You sure they're 8mm x 1.5? Don't see anything offered but 1.0 and 1.25 pitch. Look here when you accurately measure your stated thread size... |

NO bolts on an LS should be imperial. They are all metric. Normal PP bolts are M10x1.5 Standard for M8 is 1.25 as mentioned above, although you can also get M8x1.0 but it's unlikely to be used here And a 2" long pressure plate bolt ? I really do doubt that. |

That is correct regarding ls using only methric. However this is a fidanza flywheel using a dual disk clutch setup. I didn't think to look up imperial until contacting fidanza and they thought the bolts being used on my flywheel were 7/16 or 5/16 bolts. I used my caliper and found that the bolt was 5/16 or closest to 8mm metric. The thread pitch most closesly matched one of my 1.5 taps. If you look up the conversion 18 thread pitch to metric is 1.4 which is very close. But there is no 8 x 1.5 bolts. |
