Default T56 2nd grear slides into neutral

When idling in neutral 2nd gear will slide into neutral when you shift into another gear it will lock up. You can shift into all other gears no problem but the trans will lock up in two gears at the same time. If you leave it in neutral you can drive around in 2nd. After diving a bit it will slide back into neutral and work fine. Any ideas what the problem is.

Thanks Mike

If your trans were in two gears at once, it would blow up, or , at least, stall out. So, that's not happening. You could have a bent 1/2 fork ,if it is still the original aluminum. An iron fork is available as a replacement.Or just the 1/2 fork pads worn off.
If what you are saying the trans stays in 2nd no matter where you shift it, I believe the fork is your issue: its not taking it out of 2nd .

When you shift it into another gear it locks up that when it is in two gears otherwise you can drive it in neutral.
