So I have an ZF s6-40 6 speed trans. Its from an 89-96 Zr1 vette. Ive heard nothing but great things about this trans. Even guys that have had both this and the t56 prefer the zf. I cant speak of my experience yet, just waht Ive read over and over on all the other sites. I want to mate it to my L96 engine going in my chevelle but because the trans is so rare there iarent many write ups on it. I have read zf.doc and on the corvette forum about the swap already. Any how I already bought the quick time bell housing for it, and I think I want to go with a LS7 clutch,
Has any one here mated a ZF6 to Ls that can chime in with any advise on making this happen? Ive heard mixed things and cant find a straight answer on the throw out bearing needed for this swap, What master should I use, etc etc. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks
