Default Tick Master Cylinder Install help

Hello,

I installed the Tick Master Cylinder.... I need help with the adjustment.

I can get in to all the gears without even clutching in, as though my clutch is always disengaged. (Car is off, and I'm freely able to row through the gears)

What do I need to adjust to make sure my clutch is actually engaged when I'm not even pedaled in?

Thanks,
Andy

Okay your clutch master is adjustable and you will want to adjust the pedal to be approximately 1-1/2-2 inches below the brake pedal and your also going to need to bleed it. If air is trapped in the system the slave cylinder will not function properly. You may also have air trapped in your slave cylinder and you will need to bleed it also.

Andy do search on LS1tech "Clutch pedal suddenly goes to the floor" There will be a link to a video that explains how to bleed the master cylinder and slave cylinder.

Thanks for your response!! :-)

So, this is a fresh install. We thoroughly bled the system (took forever). There is no air in the system.

My problem isn't that it won't go in to gear, my problem is that after I made the adjustment to the height of the clutch itself, I can now get in to gear without having to press my clutch pedal.

Ill get a few pictures real quick

With the car off you will be able to go through all the gears without pressing in the clutch.

^^^ The only reason the pedal is that low, is because I've tried to adjust it and mess around with it. It's not sitting that low because of low fluid/air in the system. It's sitting low because I was screwing the Hex part of the master cylinder up and down. I finally gave up after I realized that I'm not making any progress towards fixing the issue.

You start the car and you won't be able to without pressing in the clutch. Perhaps I'm confused as to what exactly the problem is.

That's correct the adjustment only raises or lowers the clutch pedal.

Cool we got that figured out! You will want to adjust the pedal just enough so that when you push in the clutch you can get it into gear. This is with the engine running of course!

Eight years of driving this freaking car, and I had no idea it was normal to be able to get in to gear without clutching.

It's true what they say.... you learn something new every day. LOL!!

Thanks Dude.
