Default CD009 question

I scored a Cd009 out of a Nissan 05 G35 for next to nothing, and for now id like to slap behind a GenI Sbc but i have a few questions about fitment.
I also want this to be a refrence post for people looking to put a GenI behind this trans since I found very little on the internet, one way or another I WILL figure this out.
I have a GenI Small block and eventually id like to upgrade to the LS platform.
my plan is to buy a Cd009 to LS kit made by ICT Billet, using it in my car now with the GenI Small block, then upgrading to ls LATER
I understand that collins makes a GenI/II small block adapter but that kit is close to a grand with the right clutch and like I said I was looking to upgrade to ls later.

The kit uses stock T56 to ls1 bell, stock T56 clutch hyd Slave and Ls1 clutch assembly

Obviously the problem is that there are some key incompadibilities between the flywheel/flexplate/converter/clutch/pressure plate setups between the
Gen I/II and LS series engines so Id have to do some sort of retrofitting in order to get this to work.

Two things ive come accross,

"A key concept is understanding what is meant by "short crank" versus "long crank". The SBC, BBC and all GM engines before the LS engine had a crank which ended about .740" past the back of the block.
This position of the crank with respect to the back of the block is now called "long crank". The LS engine was designed with a shorter crank,
it is about .400" shorter than an SBC/BBC crank with respect to the back of the block and is therefore called a "short crank". (The LS crank only extends about .340 past the back of the block.)" -

"The bolt pattern for the stock 11" SBC plate will match the LS1 flywheel. There may be a difference in dowel-pins location and or presence but that can be taken care of easily.
Check your stack height and bearing depth as well to insure that you have the proper geometry." -

So in theory would using a .400" bellhousing spacer between the block/bell correct the depth of the trans (Assuming that the ICT kit is adjusted to to the LS1 t56 depth)? And would
using a 11" GenI flywheel/presssure plate setup work? Im not as worried about the flywheel as much as I am with the "custom ls1 to nissan spline" disc working with the SBC pressure plate and diaphram.
Based off the second post im assuming that the dimensions/geometry between LS1 and GenI/II pressure plates are the same once you space the bell out and get the trans sitting right. I don't have a ls1
plate for reference and I cannot compare the two, all ive got is good ol' gen I parts ATM.

Can anybody wheigh in on any of this? Would it really be as easy as just the .400" bell spacer and a pilot bush adapter?

Sir,
I myself am a Newbie here too. We are trying an LS swap into a Toyota Taco / Tacoma. I’ve had the LS refreshed updated w/ a few upgrades. I very much wanted to install the same CD009 or CD00A trans but per my research the shifter ends up being to far back. So I found a NOS Tremec TKO. Again I would have loved the Nissan trans. Just wanted to give you a small bump and a big Good Luck!
I love rolling my on gears at my age still when many friends think I’m nuts and they are pretty damn close… lol
