I have seen this B-4 + someone here just decribed the same thing & I guessed wrong.
It is usually the clutch disc. Is it ok on normal driving , but if you hop on it it grinds?
The disc has a broken hub, it can strip out totally & leave you on the side of the road. I'd suggest fixing it now.

Mine went out at 14000.... I abused the hell out of it.... Sorry to say, but you bought one thats been terrorized by someone. I would go with the spec st.3 if you plan on doing future mods to the car.... the ls6 if you plan a very mild car.... you'll get an aluminum flywheel with the spec, slave, and carbon/kevlar clutch .... Mine is holding up very well.

I will just use the ls6 clutch i will not be doing any major mods,Yeah the car is not even driveable now it sounds like the disk is just busted.I really dont think this guy beat on the car though i mean i have checked everything on the car and nothing shows excessive wear, tires are fine, brakes are totally fine and original, engine sounds good i think it was just a combination of driver error and bad clutch.

Don't feel too bad. I bought my SS with 12K miles and I knew then the clutch was on its way out. It totally became undrivable at 18K miles. I went with the Ls6 clutch kit as well. Here's your part numbers....

12345345 - Synchromesh Tranny Fluid (you'll need 4 quarts)
12581650 - LS6 Clutch Kit
15046288 - 01+ Slave Cylinder

Just do a search under my screen name in this Manual forum and you'll find several of my threads on the situation. Good luck!
