How can I tell if I have updated Hydros?
Ok the guy I bought my Kamaro from installed a Centerforce clutch on it.
Ive had the car for about 11K miles on it, and the clutch is finally slipping BAD. He had the car a total of about 2K miles, so Im guessin the clutch has a total of 12-13K miles on it. The milage of the car when I bought it was 44K and now it has 55K.
Im about to buy a new clutch kit and need to know if I will also need a new flywheel and updated hydraulics. Before I spend all this cash on this other stuff, I need to know if AT LEAST my hydros are updated or not. Thanks.

More than likey if the previous owner went with a Centerforce, he didn't upgrade the slave.
If you don't plan on anything other than bolt ons for some time, I would get the upgraded slave and go with a LS6 clutch kit. That way it'll be relatively inexpensive and you'll get a new flywheel as well. I've been running the LS6 kit now for 5k miles. I run drag radials everyday, beat the **** out of my car almost everyday, dump the clutch at 4K at the track, etc... and my clutch is still holding up. Sure, it's not biting the same as it was when I first put it in (could get tire in 4th even with the drag radials), but it's not slipping. Good Luck

not trying to hijack, but Ive got a spec 3 and I bought a used master cylinder off of an 02. I know I need the slave, but I guess there is a hose that runs from the master to the slave. Can I reuse the current hose or do I need to be a brand new master? I know I need to get the drill mod done, but I dont know where do it. Oh btw its a 99 TA. Thanks

Yeh but the one they are selling now is the one that was used for 98-99 its messed up there is one # for 98-up and its the 98-99 number unless they just took the 01-up # out of the catalog and are using the 98-99 # for the upgraded one who knows its screwy they should have kept the 01-up # if they were gonna change it . It makes you think you are buying a 98 one but hopefully you are getting the updated one.

The part # of the slave should be printed on the back side of it, opposite of where the T/O bearing attaches. It woudn't hurt to take a look while you have everything pulled out to see if you do have the updated style or not

I just bought one 15046288 says 98-00
01-02 is 12456143 I think but anyway the 12566143 if you try and order it changes back to the 15046288 so who knows what the hell you need I'm guessing they changed all of them to 98-02 so they would just have one # but they should have went with the 01-02 # and stuck with that. Hopefully they are all upgrade now. How the hell would you know?
