Yup. Sticker right on the side of the thing says so.

I run GM Synchromesh. Much nicer fluid and makes shifting smoother.

My owners manual says that the T56 doesnt require ever changing, but I will feel a whole lot better changing it every now and then. Do you guys change yours and if so how often. Ive heard around every 15K-20K.

I don't think you'd need to change it that often. I changed mine when I bought my car (12k miles) and I had to change it again when I put a new clutch in (18K miles). I'd say probably every 50K, if that.

If you're one to miss shifts and grind gears, you might want to change it more often.

I just had my tranny rebuilt due to worn blocker rings (2000 had the old paper type), and the tranny fluid and tranny were still immaculately clean. This was at 60,000-65,000 miles and the fluid had never been changed. That said, I would agree with the 50,000 mile change.

Tranny fluid doesn't get much better than RP.
