reverse lockout? a friend was telling me :secret: that the M6 T-56 had a reverse lockout so that when shifting from 4th to 5th :drive: , u wouldn't accidentally throw it into reverse when power shifting. is this true? |
yes, it locks out reverese all the time unless the car is on and your doing less then 3 mph. Justin |
thanks |
it is not a lock out. It is an inhibitor= it adds higher load requirement to the gate but does not prevent getting into the gate. |
yes thats true, if you push hard enough you can get it into reverse, i was just trying to make it simple. Justin |
Is that so, I could not get mine into reverse. I was pushing as hard as I could. |
In some colder weather my lockout will sometimes fail and let me hit that funny seventh gear on the highway... It goes against logic since the solenoid should fail in the locked-out position... |
I can push pretty hard on mine and it wont let me into reverse either. Guitsboy, your problem is a bit strange as it should fail and be locked out. Sounds like you have an electrical gremlin somewhere :( |
Im wondering if its driven off a different speed sensor than the speedometer is. Maybe its failing from time to time, but i dont set any codes. |
