Default Clutch is squeaking!?!?!?

Have any of you ever seen/heard of this before?

I got in the car just now and when I push the clutch pedal down you can hear a big ol squeak that coinsides with the pedal movement. squeaks both up and down.

Afraid to drive it now for fear something is coming apart inside.

Clutch is a spec3 with their steel flywheel.

Sounds like a bad or broken clutch return spring.

Sounds like a bad or broken clutch pedal return spring. Pull the lower dash panel and take a look and see. Mine has been broke for a while with no effects or problems. I hear it is a big job to remove and replace.

hmmm I will have to double check but I am 99% sure the sound is coming from outside the car.

Not much to cause it from the outside unless it would be from the pressure plate- fingers or the throw out bearing-on the slave it self. And if that were the case you would think there would be other problems.

that is what I am afraid of. it's definetly coming from the outside of the car. it squeaks with any movement of the pedal, so my fear is something wrong with the pressure plate.

Clutch dust???? Maybe
Might be able to try and spray some brake cleaner through the drain hole in the bottom and and the side next to the slave connection, with a straw aiming at the PP and see if that helps. Just a thought before you go any further.
