A built TH350 will be faster, more consistant, cheaper, and stronger.

there are several capable sponsors and members on this board who can build a nice T56 to with-stand severe abuse. It takes a better driver to man-up and get better ets with a M6

this is the typical response you will get cause for most people it will be mostly true. but in all trueness, a properly set up car with the right driver will be able to push a m6 very far. mine was built up for dragracing for a few hundred bucks i proshifted it, deleted 5th and 6th gear, so there goes the cheaper theory, a t-56 is very strong but it will wear, i had over 100passes on my oem tranny with 40+ thousand street miles, i have about 20 passes on this one so far, its definatly more efficient than a th350 will be, the key is getting the car out the hole, once you figure that out there is no reason a m6 cant be as fast or faster than a auto up to a certain et point, im running as fast or faster than other cars that have auto trannys with similar setups and i weigh more. key is being able to drive the **** out of a stick.

Well here's my .02. I had an M6 and loved it. I never had an issue with the trans itself. It held all of the abuse I threw at it. I did have it rebuilt with the D&D basic kit. I had issues with clutches and hydrolics. I went through 4 SPEC clutches in one year. 1 stage 3I and 3 stage 4F setups. I got tired of pulling the trans to fix a bad clutch. I went TH350, dropped some time and racing is fun again.

Yeah, I should have said most of the time. Manual deff has it's advantages, but as we all know, most of the time auto is king. Auto's usually cut better 60's and stick cars can make up for that by getting more power to the wheels with a good driver. My car will never see an auto, I plan on proshifting it down the road. Auto cars are boring to drive down the strip if you ask me.

I think you will always be able to go faster with a manual than and auto because and auto takes more hp to run and it slips in every gear unless it has a lockup converter. That said it takes a very good driver to run a manual thru the 1/4 consistantly and without a missshift. I had my m6 (number5) faceplated at liberty and it shifts better than any trans I have ever power shifted before. I dont know how its going to do in the 1/4 because the clutch started to slip after I got it in. I'll let you know next spring how it works.

It takes a damn good and I mean damn good driver to get auto times out of a manual, I love shifting but always someshit is happening, clutch failing, tranny failing, missing shifts that for me I think I could be alot faster with an auto, I hate to admit it but its true. For you guys that are quick with the manuals are you powershifting or just regular?

I am with Rodney, My car is full weight 3726 lbs and will run 11.5's all year with only 420 rwhp on Nitto drag radials. and has gone 11.38 on 16 inch M/T drag's.

SHifting fast you can out run most auto cars you run because the mph is higher in a stick car and driven right you can leave as good or better also.

On a side note, This spec 3 is kicking my ****. My last one was awsome but this one has caused me to pull the tranny for teh 3rd time in 3 months trying to get the shifting issue worked out.
SPec thinks my pressure plate bolts are backing out. I will find out tomorrow morning when I get it out.

if you can drive, the T56 will be faster since your putting more power to the ground. if you can't "drive", the 350 will be faster

autos are for people who never learned to drive a stick . sports cars are supposed to be fun to play with . Autos are boring on the street and that is what counts the most not the track if you drive on and off the track m6 if you tow it auto is the way to go.
