Got some 'issues' with new RAM clutch setup. Help please...
Hey guys. I got a McLeod adj. master, 145 slave, RAM 310 disc, RAM 402 PP, and a stock resurfaced flywheel installed today. First of all I got a local shop to install this for me. The two issues I have is that the clutch pedal is really stiff. Is there anyway to lessen the force to push the pedal down? Second issue is that there seems to be something buzzing underneath my car when I accelerate at low rpms. Say, if I'm around 1500 rpms and I accelerate at 1/4 throttle or higher I get this buzzing sound coming from around the tranny for about 200-300 rpms. It goes away with higher rpms. I know that's pretty vague but is there anything that comes off during a clutch install that I can check to see if it's loose...like heatshielding or anything?
BTW, what kinda break=in procedure should I follow? I almost forgot about break-in. Thanks guys.

The stiffer pedal is a function of the pressure plate. You've just doubled the spring pressure your pushing against, so it will be stiffer.
there's a heat shield that goes above the driver side CAT. The hydralic line for the slave goes under it. Might wanna check there for the rattle.
With the 310 disc, i'd give it a 400 or 500 miles of easy use. Don't rail on it for awhile. Shift as much as you can, it's the engage/disengage process that helps things wear in together.
The 310 is an organic disc after all

Just double checking. I'll check on the heatshielding. Thanks for the help.

Well I went for a test drive today and I noticed another problem. At times the car just does not want to go into 1st or reverse gears. And then at other times it slides right in better than with the stock setup. What's up with that? Is the disc just not disengaging all the way?

You'll need to adjust the engagement point with your new master Just follow the master rod under your dash up to the top and loosen the set screw. turn the ROD ITSELF clockwise to raise the engagement point towards you or counterclockwise to move the engagement point towards the floor. You really want it to engage around the middle of the pedal travel, I like mine a little more towrds the floor. Reset the set screw.
As far as the buzzing sound your hearing, it could be a number of things but I would check to see if they used loctite on the bolts that hold your shifter in place.
