car won't go into gear
so i just bought this car (99 SS 6 speed) from a friend, it has a 12 bolt new clutch flywheel drive shaft. before i bought it he started having problems with 6th gear, it'd grind when going into it and 4th gear would do the same(only when cold) well tonight i went to leave and i had the clutch fully pressed and i couldnt get into any gear, i'd move it to first and the car would start rolling forward... finally i got it out of the garage and it seemed like ever gear would grind so i just took it home, any ideas???

sounds like your pp is not disengaging fully......could be a result of a leaking master or slave. I would check the reservoir fluid to see if its low. If it is, that's probably your culprit.

I had the same problem and I had to replace the master and slave. The car shifts and runs great now, not hard to get into gear on the coldest days. I suggest you have these things looked at by a tranny shop. The only problem is, it was not cheap. I had to get the mcleod adj. master and 2001-2002 slave. These parts and labor ran me about $900. I also suggest you buy the parts new because I bought an adj. master to start off, and this is what made everything go wrong. But first off, have a tranny shop check your hydraulics to make sure that is the problem.

bled the clutch, sounds like air in there to me. A lot of guys use the mini-vac to bled the clutch. Or you can use the pump the pedal method. Do you have an adjustable slave installed?

Yeah you can get the Mity-Vac from Sears and see if you can suck some air out of the system. If you can pump it up to about 22 psi and have it maintain pressure for a few hours you might try and pump the clutch a few times and see if you have any air pocket(s) somewhere in there. Does the clutch fall to the floor ever?
