I've been running a RAM910 clutch disk and VDS pressure plate for about 20K miles on a Fidanza alum flywheel and it holds great. I took my time breaking it in (about 500 miles) and then went to the dyno, thereafter I didn't powershift for probably another 500 miles. After that it was on!

Heavy pedal pressure and in my application it requires me to slip the clutch a little from a stop or I get clutch chatter. It is a very grabby clutch though and I was told rated to hold 600hp+. I'm at 440rwhp and will be spraying a NX 150hp wet shot in about a month I hope. We'll see if it can hold 600rwhp.

I daily drive the car, have been to the strip about 10 passes, and been road racing about (16) 20 minute sessions on it with no regrets. I steered away from SPEC after hearing about nightmare stories of them exploding, repeated posts about it failing with under 1K miles on them, and other crappy stories. I wanted a clutch I could abuse, it could take the punishment for a long time, and not need me to change it out every 5-10K miles.

I like my combo aside from the heavy pedal pressure in stop/go traffic. But the price was right and it works great. I got mine from TSP in TX.

I've got Ram VDS w/ 910 disk...after about 3k miles on the street it's starting to tame down some as far as the chatter. As was said above, it's a chatterer, but I've finally forced myself just to rev it up a little and slip it, and it's not too bad...I put down 492/578 to the wheels and it holds just great. Held great at track last year, will see how it holds this year.

The difference, as I understand it, between the VDS "kit" and the buying individual parts is that the VDS kit includes pressure plate studs and shims. There's about $100 difference (If memory serves me correctly) between the individual 'parts' and the VDS 'kit' - and that's because of the studs. The pressure plate studs make it nice to install, that's for sure. Worth the extra $100+? Up to you to decide.

That said, I love my 910/VDS. Helluva clutch.

I have had great luck with my VDS/910 setup. I daily drive it and it has held my mods + 150hp nx with no problems.
