Ok guys here it goes, what I am planning on doing is, making my 89 camaro iroc a 6 speed, it has the stock 700R4. Now my question is if a T56 from a 93/97 f body the same as a 98/02 f body? Will both trannys bolt on the same on my 350ci camaro? or is one electronic etc... can i use the same bellhousin?

well if it helps it can be done with the 93 -97 t56....my friend did it with his 3rd gen

I believe the 93 versions have slightly different gearing. I believe that it is slightly tighter gear ratios. I could be wrong though.

look up online and make sure you're getting the 6 speed with the .5:1 overdrive, not the .62 or .76

hey anthony....ya i did the swap with a 94 T56 for the reason of the overdrive gear in the 93 was tighter.... 94-97 are best and are a direct bolt but you need to use the bellhousing from the T56. as for 98-02 T56s im not sure im trying to figure that one out right now myself.

Ive seen it done I would assume you would have to use a LT1 tranny b/c the hyldrolics are closer to your 89 then a LS1's are
