SPEC stage 2 Slipping?
SPEC stage 2 Slipping? I just had a Spec stage 2 clutch installed in my 2000 trans am. It feels really good around town when im just driving easy, but if i decide to give it more gas in a gear, i feel the clutch slipping. its most noticable in 5th and 6th gear. when im cruising in 5th or 6th and decide to give more gas without downshifting, i can feel the clutch slipping. the engine revs higher but it doesnt exactly accelerate like it should. is it doing this because the clutch needs to be broken in? or is the clutch ****? or was the job done wrong?
how many miles you got on the clutch ? I know there was some break in for mine. I wanna say like 500 miles I took it easy. I had a stage 3 spec. Its slipping now though. Im going with a centerforce this time.
I would first find someone who's really good with f-bodies (everybody knows somebody) and get them to take it for a spin. If they say something's up, take it to the shop. The clutch should be broken in enough to not be slipping after 100 miles, but there is a very outside chance it may still have some glaze on it.
Also, did you get a new flywheel? That may make a little difference.
