Default ram VDS clutch questions/advice

i picked up a used clutch from a friend that wrecked his car.its a ram VDS 900 with a 910 pressureplate.he allways said he hated it.it would give him whiplash everytime he would leave easy in first gear.another friend said he had too many shimm's in it.he had four and needed two.

well we noticed the pressureplate is pretty chewed up and im gonna buy a new one.should i drop down too a 300 series to make it a little more streetable?this is my weekend car,but i dont want to have the same problems he had.

also where can i order just a pressureplate?

The VDS setup is a race setup. That is why it is not very street friendly. I was looking into it, and found that out so I tried the twin disk instead.

I am very pleased with the way the twin disk grips and drives. The pedal is lighter than stock and there is no chatter at all. The only thing is the floater rattles at idle with the pedal pushed in.
