Default Got my Ram Slave today *pics*

I didn't realize that RAM made a slave for our cars until a few weeks ago, so we got a shipment in one day and I decided to go ahead and get one today. We will see how it works. Enjoy!

Actually, that looks like an aftermarket slave to me.

FWIW, my aftermarket slave works fine right now.

Yeah, we have put them in a few cars lately and they seem identical to the 01-02 slave's. Right now I am feeling that I am loosing power. I bleed the stock 99" slave about every 3 days and it pulls up some serious air every time.

Getting rid of the SPEC and getting the Centerforce Dual Friction and the RAM t.o. bearing and flywheel. Nothing is wrong with the SPEC, it doesnt have but a couple thousand miles on it. Just got a HUGE deal on this clutch setup. Worth a shot.

I suspect the RAM hydraulic throw out bearing is just a rebuilt factory unit. The original GM slaves are made by AP. You can get the same throw out bearing from Rock Auto for about 80 bucks.

Yeah, it is actually the GM. That was what I meant. RAM Flywheel, not and t.o. bearing.

Well, I put it in today and it works great! I was going to put in a Centerforce clutch that only had 500 miles on it, and it looked to be in worse shape than my SHIT3 that was already in the car for around 20,000 miles. So I figured out why my spec chattered so bad....One of the springs on the disc was completely broken in half! So I put the Spec Clutch and pressure plate back in with the SPEC flywheel and used the centerforce disc since mine was nearly toast.

So I have driven around town a bit now and it holds like a mother. I guess it is a hybrid setup now.

CenterSpec 3 = Frankenstein clutch

Well, the bitch is slippin' like crazy today.... I think I am going to pull it out and part out the centerforce and SPEC portions that are still in good condition. So that means 2 re-surfaced flywheels will be going up for sale here in the next week or 2. I anticipate that I will just get the most non-streetable clutch there is out there just because I can't stand to have something I can't absolutely rail! Looking at that Ram clutch that handles the big power. I think it is rated like the twin disc like 1200 rwhp or something retardedly high.

Well got the RAM master and the Ram VDS twin disc with the aluminum flywheel installed yesterday. Aligning a two disc's and a floater plate without a 26 spline input shaft is pretty tough. Your conventional clutch alignment tool sucks for more than one disc. Clutch works like a champ regardless of install sucking. I don't have any bogging coming off the line. (keep in mind this is during the break-in process too) I have still yet to have hit a hard shift, allthough I want to.

Cliffnotes:
Clutch rules so far!

i was gonna say that slave looks just like the one im putting in tonight that i got from autozone...

i dont know what yall have heard about the CF DF but my experiences have been bad...this is the fourth time ill have replaced the slave and TOB since february. the CF grabs like a son of a bitch, but it keeps eating TOB's and that in turn eats the seal on the slave...so this time im replacing everything. new master, slave, TOB, and spec stage three...im hoping it stays together longer than two weeks unlike my setup with the CF.

howd you like the spec? and how was it compared to your franken-clutch?
