Skip shift and short throw q's [QUOTE=Pizza King]Well I've had my car not even a week and I'm already fed up with that skip shift. I'm fairly new to driving standards as is it. I learned on a 5 speed which I've found to be a little different especially since it was a 4 banger. LOL. But, I hate going from 1st to 3rd. I was wondering what you guys think of getting a shift skip eliminator? Any brand specifc that is reccommended? Better way to achieve this? Also, I'm curious about a short throw kit. Do they make driving around more fun? My car is a DD and will be for a couple years atleast. How hard are they to install? Are they worth the dough? I don't plan on ever drag racing my car but I just want to make the already enjoyable drive better if its possible? Car is a 99' Trans Am Thanks, |
Try Afterthoughts Auto for both. |
An aftermarket shifter will definently make everything more precise and IMO worth the $. I have a PRO 5.0 and really like it. WS6 store is a sponsor here and they run package deals with a shifter and short stick for really good prices. |
Afterthoughts is a good company. They also have the packaged deal. |
I checked out their site and the closest thing I could find to a package deal was this... http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/pro50towshif.html Is that a good choice? Is it even a short throw kit? Is there any difference between these two skip shift modules?? One is aeliminator and one is a delete? Thanks, Kyle |
I wish I knew where the "do it yourself" link was. I did that on all of my M6 cars. It cost about $2-$3 if that. It only take 5-15 minutes to do. Maybe someone will chime in. |

I also have a Pro 5.0 and 6.5" WS6store Stick. I love it, it shifts nice and the 2-3 shift is the best. It is noisy and alot more notchy than stock, so it depends on how you want it. |
