A "two step" is short term for a "two step rev limiter", which you may have heard called a stutter box. When it is activated, the two step will hold your RPMs at a predetermined level until the clutch is released, even when your foot has got the gas pedal on the mat.
I use mine to come out of the hole at 6000RPM already at full throttle. Be warned: two steps hit the tires harder than any other means of launching. Make sure your drivetrain is ready, otherwise you'll be going home on a rollback.

it also lets you build boost coming off the line with a 6 speed.

I'm naturally aspirated and I use one for consistant as hell launches.
Last trip to the track, 5 of my 7 runs resulted in 1.63 60 fts. 1 run was aborted, and the other I didnt have the 2-step activated, otherwise that might've been 6 of 7 passes being 1.63
3 weeks ago it allowed me to pull an all-time best 60 of 1.58
Its fun as hell too.

Nice ride! What RPM are you launching at? Where did you get the 2 step? Are you running MT's DR's?

Right now its set to 4700rpm, I bought it used from username Fireball. Harlan is who makes it but he stopped making them and supposedly in the processes of comign out with a version 2. I have all out Hoosier drags.
