z06 clutch removal question

z06 clutch removal question do i need to drop the rear subframe and lower the transmission to pull the clutch out. i was hoping i could pull my engine without doing that andworry about it after i pull the engine out of the car but i can't get it to pull out of the car. i have the bolts out of the cylinder and the where the torque tube bolts connect. am i missing something??
