Default LUK same as GM??

I went to Auto Zone and got a new master and slave cylinder for my clutch. I have a '98 Z28. I got the LUK master and slave for the 02' Z28 because the '98-'99 slave/master sucks. Now the problem is the slave and master look the same as the stock slave/master off my car. Only difference is the spring on the slave is shorter than the stock spring, but it is just as stiff. Is it only the GM brand master/slave from the dealer that updated the design. Or are my LUK brand master/slave for the '02 Z28 just as good? Please help, I don't want to put in the same crappy parts. Thanks
