Default LS7 Clutch and Flywheel.

This will more then likely be my next investment, how-ever I am looking for a lightweight flywheel to get the engine RPM's to swing quickly. Is the LS7 flyheel sufficent for this? Should I purchase a lightwieght LS2 flywheel and use that with the LS7 clutch?

Also curious on prices. How much did it cost you for a similar set-up? All work will be performed by me, my friends and a little help from Bud Light.

I paid like $650 shipped for my ls2 flywheel, ls7 clutch & pressure plate, pilot bearing, and new slave cylinder + 6 new flywheel bolts from fredbeansgmparts.com

I believe the ls2 flywheel is the same as the ls7 but don't quote me on that... I just bought the ls7 clutch kit on fred beans site which included the ls2 flywheel.

Fidanza offers a 13lb LS2 flywheel. It's what I used with my LS7 clutch. The 'LS2' and 'LS7' flywheels are the same part number, or were when I bought my Fidanza.

I don't recall what I paid, but I'm pretty sure I posted it months ago.

thats not that bad... I just priced a LS7 clutch @ 240...

A couple more questions... what flywheel should I go with? I want a light one... but I heard that the aluminum one is junk, and causes the clutch to turn to mush.

Also, does any-one have part numbers for these parts?

Input is welcomed of course! Thanks for the help so far!
