Default High RPM 1st to 2nd grind

Hey everyone! I've tried searching this but no luck or it's not exactly what I'm experiencing.
I just installed a cam and since then I've noticed when I shift hard at high rpms 6500ish, it has a hard time going in to 2nd gear. Clutch is all the way to the floor and it still grinds.... I'm hoping this is my stock clutch not enjoying the new HP and not my t56...
Any one experience this as well and if so what did you do to fix it.
Thanks

Agreed. I have never had an issue since I installed the Tick master. Though my problem was always with 2-3 high RPM shift.

It's your pressure plate

Could be his pressure plate. But I had the 2-3 high rpm lack of clutch disengagement issue on 2 different aftermarket clutches (Spec and Cartek). My problem didn't go away until I changed the master.

thanks for all the replies! YEah I found a few threads with similar issues to mine after some better searching. Sounds like most are 2nd to third shift. Its about 50/50 whether it does it or not and I don't need to spin it to 6500 anyway since I don't think my cam peaks that high anyway... which is another issue in itself maybe... my hptuners is saying its peaking at 5800. cam is a 233/239 112 lsa .600 lift int and ext. Might have to treat it a little nicer till I replace the stock junk with a good clutch master and slave. thanks again for helping a newb out hahah

that cam should be giving you peak torque at 4800 and peak HP at 6300.

Yeah this is what I was thinking. Do you have any idea why it would be peaking so soon? I installed tooth to tooth and it is clearly faster. My AFR is off by a bit during WOT and my timing is 24*. I am running on 91 octane and still logging like 1* KR. Maybe this is better off in the PCM diagnostic section but what the hell.

This is my log file from the pulls I made hope someone can look at it and give some advice? Thanks

I remember reading here, that stock clutches have some kind of self-adjuster that starts making shifts bad at high RPM. Maybe you found that searching already.

For some reason my conputer won't read the log. But I'd like to ask - what intake, exhaust, etc, as those things can greatly influence your peak RPMs

Yes, that's correct. The adjuster shrinks the fingers up as the clutch wears, so you get less and less movement of the plate, resulting in failure to fully release.

I am running a FAST 92 with a NW 92 TB. 1 7/8" headers and tsp true duals dumped before axels. My valvetrain is really quiet too not that I can hear anything g over my exhaust haha.
I flashed my cars PCM with my speed density tune and the rpms peaked at like 6500 and plateaued till I shifted around 6700-6800. Car feels absolutely amazing and sounds great. Couldn't be happier with it but don't know why the low numbers during my MAF tuning? I know my tune is off a bit but the difference is like 415hp at 6500 rpm while SD and 370 at 5800 rpm while MAF tuning? Either way I think I'll be leaving it SD till I can smooth things out with the tune... I am a novice tuner but the car feels great like I say and runs strong.
Thanks

Sounds to me like your maf curve is way off up top. FWIW I run SD and I like it well enough.

My car seems to have better throttle response in SD and just seems happier haha. I'm sure if I really tried I could get the maf tuned up right as well but I think for now I'll keep it SD.
Took it out again tonight and logged wot again and it didn't stop pulling till I let off. What a change from last year!
