Default how long did you manual trans last?

my car has about 100k and i just want to have an approxtime as to when it might be going out..(so i can save up for it...cuz i know its going to be netween 2k and 4k..thanks everyone

There is really no time limit on when they normally start having issues. It all depends on how hard you drive it, do you take it to the track and how often you change the fluid. If you change the fluid every 20,000 it will prolong the life of the transmission as well as help with any possibilites of the fluid breaking down.

A normal rebuild with all of the goods parts is usually around $1200. You should never spend $2000-$4000 unless you are going with a setup or the transmission is completely fubarbed.

I have seen these things last 180,000 miles before they have issues but then again I have seen some with less than 1,000 come in looking like they have 180,000 on them.

ever since i got it.."70k" i havent driven it hard..so i hope i still have many more k's of miles from it going out..thanks
