Default 500hp gto, what clutch should I get?

the car is in the shop right now,
it's a 2005 (LS2 T56M12) with 30K miles (and 200 1/4mile passes)
I typicly go down the track 100-150 times a year and do lots of city and highway driving
I'm shooting for 400rwhp N/A and 500RWHP on spray

I've got local friends with different opinions on the subject
- Stock Clutch - costs less than a performance clutch, and it's less expensive than a rear end.
- LS7 Clutch, it's a little stronger than the stock LS2 clutch (but kind of bastardized)
- Ram performance clutch/billet steel flywheel (I don't know anyone with this)
- McCloud Twin Disk with Billet Steel flywheel (go big or go home)
it can be rebuilt, but I've seen it aid in the destruction of the driveline (with alot less power than me, and on an F-Body too)

thanks guys,

Russ

I say stay stock until you build your driveline up.
Not to mention a little clutch slippage on your part wouldn't hurt me at the track.

Only reason I say no LS7 is because its a pain at the track to deal with, great for DD and holding power (mine is holding up with 4700 rpm dumps on MT DR's at the track) but it is a pain to get it into gear after driving it hard. I am tempted to shim mine...

my plan is to purchase "something" here in the next month or so,
(but wait till I either Kill my stocker or have the driveline done)
also planned for this spring:
one piece driveshaft, Harrop rear end cover/mounts, rear spring cradle bushings, Rear (and front) Anti Sway Bars, and possibly some drag bags
depending on money,
I would also like to upgrade my axle stubs and probably my CV shafts.

eventually get the (IRS) 12bolt from harrop (or maybe the 9")

if you just want something temp then you cant beat the ls7/ls2 combo. Fred beans sells it for about 400 shipped. There are several cars in tampa running it making 500 na and it has held going on about 6 months. Plenty of track use and street. I have it in my car now with a new 408 pushing it. no problems with the driveability. I have not hit it with the spray yet so cant say anthing to that.

my SPEC 3+ is holding up just fine. I had a little problems when first installed but it got fixed and it works great on the street and 6,000 dumps.

I've got a mcleod single and I've liked it with daily driving and some spirited launches on the street (no track time though).

check out the new CARTEK Clutch
Their clutches have always been great. They get tons of life, awesome gripping power and easy to drive on the street.

actually,
due to the probability of blowing up my drive line,

I'm leanin towards the LS7 (and replaceing it more often)
