Default How long would you expect a Spec 3+ to last in a DD?

Iv got an 02 TA and the stock clutch lasted 2.5 years w/ 74k miles. I replaced it w/ a Spec3+ and Spec billet FW. It just started slipping and its been in for 2 years w/ 50k miles on it. Is this about right?

Also, when replacing the clutch, should I get another FW while I'm at it? or can they just resurface the billet flywheel I have.

well thats pretty good. I am only expecting abiut 15,000 out of mine- anything over that and I will be happy. They can resurface it- you can just go by how it looks.

19,000 miles out of mine. Removed it yesterday and found the disc worn close to the rivets. No excessive heat marks on the pressure plate or flywhell. It just wore out. It grabbeed great up until the last month. This was ALL city driving with NO highway. The clutch was all daily driven and driven hard on the street. This is a little shorter than I got from other high performance clutches. I expected about 30,000 miles from it but it didn't make it. I got 60,000 from a Z06 clutch for comparisons. The Z06 had the ability to slip more I believe and was more suited to street driving. The price I had to pay for a clutch that gripped. I expect to have my McLeod street twin in tonight. I will update on the direct comparison of SPEC3 vs. McLeod Street Twin

50,000 miles is incredible....!!! Hell ALMOST unbelievable, you are really easy on clutches. Ive got > 10,000 on mine and I expect it to last 20 - 25,000.....

I got less than 30,000 and I will never purchase another spec clutch again. even with just a few thousand miles on it, it would not grab a 1-2 powershift, on a stock car.

I got a total of 3 drag strip passes on the clutch.

I will be going with a Z06 (ls7) clutch next, with new hydrolics, and hope that is better.

Just curious.. did you happen to change out the flywheel when you put the Spec3 in?

When I put my spec3 in, we also put in a Spec billet FW, McLoud adj. master cylinder, & a GM slave cylinder. Its been working great up till now and as long as i'm not rough on it anymore, im sure i'll be able to squeeze another 10k miles out of it. Hopefully

I would expect the spec 3 to last in the 25k mile range. To get 50k out of it is crazy for such an aggressive clutch(relative to stock). I have the spec 4 which has the same disc as the 3 but without the springs. I expect to get in the 25k mile range, which would be several years for me. When it goes I will get another one. If it lasts me 5 more years, then I will have 8 years of driving on it. For the $400 that I paid for it I cannot complain. $50 per year of use.

I got 40k out of my spec 4. Only reason its comming out is because the motor let go. Im sure I could have gotten another 20k miles on it the way I drive. Im not sure if ill got with another one tho becuase they seem to be hit or miss on weather you getting a good one or not.

Thats exactly what im thinking as well... I looove my spec3, but after reading all of the hate posts directed at them, I'm starting to consider the possibility that I just got lucky w/ mine.

Iv also entertained the idea that perhaps the people who had such bad luck w/ a Spec clutch was due to impropper break-ins, using an old flywheel, or something along those lines.
